Professor of Pharmacology and Medicine TEL: 858-534-7287 FAX: 858-534-4122 email: jferamisco@ucsd.eduPh.D., University of California, Davis Key Words: Cell Biology; Molecular Biology; Oncogenes; Growth Control Mechanisms; Signal Transduction; Cellular Oncogenes and Protein Kinases. We use microinjection techniques along with biochemical and molecular biological approaches to study the function of regulatory proteins in mammalian cell growth control and differentiation. To aid in the analysis of quantitative gene expression in cells and tissues, we have begun to 3-D multi-color fluorescence deconvolution microscopy. Selected Publications: Wu, Z., Puri, P. L., Woodring, P., Wen, F., Feramisco, J.R., Wang, J. and Karin, M. p38 and extracellular signal-regulated kinases regulate the myogenic program at multiple steps.
